110 Years of Tradition and Taste

La Segunda Bakery & Café is celebrating their 110th anniversary on July 18th. Famous for their handcrafted Cuban bread and beloved Cuban coffee, they will celebrate their anniversary with special pricing on select items. From Saturday, July 5th through Friday, July 18th, customers can enjoy a half loaf of Cuban bread for $1.10 in-store only, and an espresso shot for $1.10 in-store and online. Both promos are available while supplies last.

Originally founded by Juan Moré in 1915, La Segunda ownership has been passed down from generation to generation. It is now operated by Copeland Moré, fourth generation owner. 

“We’re one of the few bakeries in the country still making authentic Cuban bread the old-fashioned way, just as my great-grandfather did in Ybor City in 1915,” said Copeland Moré. Adding, “Carrying on that legacy is what sets our bread and our story apart.” 

Since stepping into the business in 2009, Copeland has played a key role in increasing La Segunda’s reach and expanding operations while staying true to its roots. Alongside his father, Tony Moré, the team expanded La Segunda’s wholesale operations across the nation, now producing more than 20,000 loaves of Cuban bread per day. They also grew their retail locations from one location to four. 

The 110 year old brand has expanded from their original Ybor City location to four locations operating across the Tampa Bay area, now including South Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Seminole Heights.
